Analyzing Group Photos

The photograph draws your attention to the girl through light and shadows in order to communicate that she is all alone. This picture seems to be staged; because, the shadows and beams of light do not look possible, and there is a spotlight on the women. The beams of light are all facing her and they all point in her direction, there is also a reflection of her on the ground, which we had not noticed till the very end, it is confusing to me on why they had that there. She looks lonely and there are odd color choices, which brings my mind to think that she is crazy. It seems like she could be feeling trapped as a child, the handstand seems kind of childish.
