Response to "On Ghosts"

During the short story "On Ghosts" by Hunts, the main character had been denied the tight to know her own race.  This wasn't by the court or anything it was because of her father.  At the age of 33 she finally got her father to tell her.  Her father didn't want her to know that she had any black in her.  They were light enough to pass as whites.  The reason he must have not told them was so that they think that they are white and when you are whiter people normally don't think anything of it.  A lot of other races get judged and fsvored over others and it becomes an issue with people because they will feel bad about themselves just because they are a certain race.  A lot of blacks will feel ugly or less superior to whites because of how they have been viewed and treated in the past. The common thought is that you won't be judged if you are white because it's "normal" to be white.
